about

This track is a portrait of my return to the Pacific Northwest to collect my mothers ashes

lyrics

Long rakes of time draw near and you
Hope to feel blank and make a fast friend of fear
Still you know it'll come take your breath away
But you don't really mind you just came back to say

I've got a bleeding that I can't take with me
It's not mine to care for can I leave it here
And you with your shining rings of silver let me break down eventually
I hope to return again

It takes 25 miles for my anxieties to quell
And 13 more before my eyes feel well
Though the heat barrages me and I'd rather just pull off
The mountain looms ahead and there's just no time to stop

It's the last call for ravers my father could save us
I know I will miss you some feelings you can trust
But why must I drive here all alone I think I should have known
It stops
And I know I've made it home

Green, falling off leaves dripping memories
At peace, it calls out to me and old friend I enjoy listening
And when you finally give up, let your will subside
Then I will truly know just what it means to die

Staggering alongside the heartless and losers
There's no chance to save her 2017 is the future
I stand with my hand upon the door
In the I-5 Corridor
